In the 3 of August 2018 EMTech SPACE PC (CY) Ltd. signed a new contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to design and develop an innovative system to support accurate magnetic field measurements in Space EMC applications requiring flexibility and portability. The Kick-off meeting was held in the 31 of August 2018.
The SMMF comprises of portable devices to accurately acquire magnetic fields, and software running in smart-phones and laptops.The provided smart-phone application will be used to estimate related placement geometry using image processing techniques, as well as configuration and storage of portable magnetometer measurements.
EMTech SPACE P.C. (CY) Ltd. has been established in Cyprus since Q4-2016. The expansion of EMTech activities to Middle East and, in general, Asia is considered very important, especially regarding promoting space and energy domain activities. Cyprus has become a new member of ESA, so participation of the Cypriot company in ESA calls, taking into consideration the anticipated ESA geo-return matters for Cyprus, is also a strategic decision towards further business development. The Cypriot company acquires major experience of EMTECH SPACE P.C. relevant to electromagnetics applications, including the results of a previous ESA/ESTEC project relevant to the Multi-Magnetometer Facility (MMF).
The MMF is today installed in ESA/ESTEC EMC laboratory and used in space-missions. Recently the MMF was launched as a product for the international space applications market.
