EMTech in the 9th ESA Investement Forum

On the 2nd of July 2014 the European space innovation scene gathered in Toulouse (France) for the 9th edition of the ESA Investment Forum. The event fostered investments and partnership opportunities by bringing start-up companies using space-related technology, applications or services, together with finance and investment communities making this forum an exceptional setting for exploring investment opportunities.

EMTech GmbH - represented by Nikolaos-Antonios Livanos, was one of the 24 investment-ready companies selected to pitch their company at the ESA investment forum before an audience of international venture capitalists as well as corporate and strategic investors. Earlier this year, EMTech GmbH, was accepted for participation in the ESA Business Incubation Center Darmstadt, to realize the “Smart-Grid Parallel Universe” innovative concept, and is currently seeking seed funding.

The event was organized by Europe Unlimited in partnership with, Aerospace Valley, CNES and Toulouse Metropole and hosted by the Toulouse Space Show. Also as a part of the event, the opportunity was given to entrepreneurs to practice their presentations and obtain feedback from experts and coaches at the venture academy, held on the 1st of July. International industry speakers shared their point of view and experiences of the Space Technology Industry, where after time was made available for the Investors to meet one on one with the entrepreneurs.

Nikolaos-Antonios Livanos made the following statement:

The 9th European Space Agency investment forum was an excellent opportunity for EMTech to enter the investment community, capture its mentality and start building a strong case on the company’s potential to acquire seed funding for our new venture. We presented our idea on how future energy smart-grids can take advantage of accurate, short-term, real-time simulations; a concept based on state-of-the-art spacecraft operational simulators’ software infrastructure used in all ESA missions. Additionally, we had a series of B2B meetings with several VC representatives, such as the Triangle Venture Capital Group and Google among others, and of course the opportunity to discuss the details of our business proposal. It was really an amazing experience and we are looking forward to participating in similar events in near future.
