We proudly announce the participation of EMTech Space P.C. in PRELUDE, an innovation activity funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program. PRELUDE (Prescient building Operation utilizing Real Time data for Energy Dynamic Optimization) will facilitate the transition to clean energy by combining innovative, smart, low-cost solutions into a proactive optimization service.
Our presence in this 42-months-journey is accompanied by 20 partners, including acclaimed companies of the green energy sector as well as, major universities. The outcome of PRELUDE will be demonstrated in 5 countries across Europe. The project is focused on assessing the right level of smartness necessary for any given household and then providing the optimal tools according to the needs of the user (occupant or tenant, owner or manager and energy service provider).
Both our companies in Greece and Germany, EMTech Space P.C. and EMTech GmbH, pertain to PRELUDE providing their unique expertise. By using FusiX, a proprietary Decision Support System framework, EMTECH is building a multi-simulation platform. The FusiX platform is already used in two other European Projects, named E-DYCE and PVadapt. FusiX is also commercially deployed in our iReact product that transformed the Energy Transmission in Greece and undoubtedly proves the versatility of the platform. A large volume of data is streamlined through FusiX, which undertakes fostering of the whole project idea, automatizes procedures and enhances decarbonization actions, whilst maintaining communication with the building’s automation units.
PRELUDE is designed as an optimization service, providing clear and pertinent feedback and suggesting retrofitting actions on a cost-efficient basis through dynamic building renovation passports. The project’s innovations will be demonstrated in a wide spectrum of applications: individual multi-apartment buildings in Turin and Geneva, large scale residential in Krakow, social housing in Athens, detached modern nZEBsin Denmark and on a district scale in the Municipality of Aalborg. PRELUDE will achieve energy savings exceeding 35% by leveraging both occupant and building operations. Similarly, maintenance and repair costs will be reduced at least by 39%.
Mr.Vasilis Georgoutsos , System Analyst of EMTech GmbH, made the following statement: “In EMTECH GmbH we strongly believe in a new Green Building era, which provides us with motives to design and deliver products that elevate buildings’ smartness levels, decrease maintenance costs and raise users’ awareness, while reducing CO2 footprints and improving the indoor living environment. With this in mind, this project will act as a beacon for further initiatives to follow.”
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement N° 958345
